Welcome to Mountain View Internal Medicine & Pediatrics

Our Practice

At Mountain View Internal Medicine & Pediatrics we believe that patients across the entire age spectrum deserve a medical home in which they can seek expert, personalized advice and treatment for any of their health concerns.  We believe that, in this modern day and age of medicine, patients and their families require a primary physician who is skilled in understanding both general and complex health issues in order to guide patients appropriately.  We strive to deliver this brand of primary care in an environment that utilizes the latest technologies but maintains an old-fashioned sense of caring and compassion.

What is Med Peds?

Med Peds is the term commonly used to describe the combined specialty training of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.  It is a combination of primary care for adults (Internal Medicine) and primary care for infants, children and adolescents (Pediatrics).  In this unique type of training, after medical school, a four year residency is simultaneously completed in both fields.  The combined specialty provides in depth training in a wide variety of illnesses and chronic medical conditions afflicting the entire age spectrum.  Preventive medicine is strongly emphasized for both children and adults.  Doctors in this field are able to act as Primary Care Physicians (PCP's) for their patients.

What is Board Certification?

Board Certification is obtained after the completion of a residency. All areas of medical practice have national medical boards which certify physicians. A comprehensive exam is required to ensure adequate knowledge has been obtained during medical school and residency training. After completion of a four year Med Peds residency training program, board exams are administered by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. Board certification is of utmost importance when choosing a physician to ensure competency in the field of expertise.
